The Improved Pension (often referred as Aid & Attendance) has had proposed amendments to its regulations concerning the requirements that qualify veterans or veterans spouses by the VA since 2015.  September 18th, 2018 the VA announced that they are implementing a 3 year look back as of October 18th, 2018.  What you need to do TODAY…

On October 18, 2018, the start of the three-year look-back will begin. This look-back is to flag any asset transfers that were sold in the past three years for less than fair market value. Any transfer prior to October 18, 2018 will be protected and not subject to the new laws. Transfers made on or after October 18th will be subject to a penalty for asset transfers that can result in up to a five year period of ineligibility.

For detailed information on what these rules mean to you and your clients we urge everyone to sign up for our Fall Conference for Attorneys set for October 24th-25th or our Fall Conference for Case Managers set for November 14th-15th at our Roswell, Georgia office.
