As we begin 2018, we have several items to share with you:

1. The VA Pension has increased by 2% for 2018. This is the same percentage as the Social Security increase.
2. There will NOT be any changes to the VA Pension Program for 2018. There has been some speculation that VA would force a look-back period, however, that is not so. The rules for VA Pension remain the same.
3. We are gearing up for AVAPP Training for 2018. The Spring Training, which will be held in Roswell GA at the Swain Law Firm, includes two sessions:

March 13-14, 2018 Attorney Training*

• Non-members-$2,000

March 28-29, 2018 Case Manager/Paralegal Training

Cost

• AVAPP Attorney Member Personnel-$750
• Non-member offices-$1250

*For attorneys, this training provides 16 hours of CLE to include 14 hours General, 1 hour Professional, and 1 hour Ethics. Also, this training will provide attorneys with their 3 hour Accreditation Requirement to be VA Accredited.
